We're proud to share that on June 6th, 2017 the Vermont Studio Center (VSC) and Cushman Design Group were presented with the Lamoille County Planning Commission's (LCPC) Jim Marvin Award for Excellence in Project Design Honorable Mention for our collaborative work on the VSC Campus Master Plan. Our firm is honored and grateful for the community recognition of this work that is close to the heart for so many involved. The master planning process continues and implementation is underway, with the recent milestone achievement of completing the 1834 Kowalsky annex preservation and 2017 addition to the 1896 Kowalsky house.

Crafted in collaboration with the VSC Board of Directors, the comprehensive campus master plan plan addresses current and future programmatic needs, assesses the repair or replacement of existing buildings, and provides for an up to date, sustainable and cohesive campus setting. CDG is responsible for the ongoing schematic design of multiple studio spaces and residences to preserve and enhance the 28 building campus. The Design Group of Warren, VT is architect of record for the project and is responsible for construction documentation. Many of these buildings require the design team to work closely with the Vermont Department of Historic Preservation to achieve permitting and to seamlessly fit within the Johnson, VT community.
