Designed for a family deeply rooted in downhill skiing, this mountain home reflects an active, wellness-focused lifestyle and a strong appreciation for the outdoors. The screened porch, deck, and patio strengthen the connection between the main living spaces, surrounding mountain views and landscape. The exterior material palette responds to the rugged character of the setting. Beyond the gorgeous, custom metal entry door, a sculptural stair draws the eye upward toward the primary gathering spaces, serving as an introduction to a sense of movement and discovery that continues throughout the home.

That journey through the home is rooted in the idea of prospect and refuge, the balance between expansive views and a sense of shelter. The L shaped home is oriented toward the mountains, with the entry tucked into its center. From there, the stair rises alongside large windows toward the main living spaces, where the landscape opens up again. Throughout the home, rooms shift between these two experiences. Gathering spaces, the gym, and the primary bedroom reach outward toward the mountain, while more private spaces, including the guest room and primary bath, turn toward the quiet of the woods. Even the screened porch and lower patio feel sheltered within the landscape while maintaining a carefully framed connection to the view.

Inside, a rich mix of wood species and natural materials is balanced by playful pattern, color, and art. Flush baseboards, precisely installed wallcoverings, and a locally crafted concrete tub speak to the extraordinary care and craftsmanship throughout.

Outside, stone steps wind into the wooded hillside, extending the same sense of exploration beyond the walls of the home.
