Butternut Mountain Farms
The historic retail buildings in downtown Johnson, VT had two different floor levels that were originally connected by a small, ramped link section. The renovation and stabilization project involved raising the two-story portion off of its deteriorating stone foundation, constructing a new foundation and stabilizing the structure. By raising the two-story section so that both retail floors were in alignment and replacing the ramp section with a much wider connecting structure, we were able to create a very open, airy and light filled retail space.
