The natural beauty and integrity of the land was preserved in the design and building of this summer cottage on Lake Champlain. Few trees were cut, and no blasting was done to accommodate the structure. The building was designed to fit the land. The interior spaces are not strictly defined and harbor relaxation. The floor is lowered two risers to give greater volume and wall height for the owners' art. A painting studio for her and an acoustically isolated music studio for him are within the program areas of the home.
