We were commissioned to design a traditional home based on Vermont's Greek Revival vernacular architectural heritage. A full time residence, the building composition consists of an "original" main house with several "additions" and an attached "barn", now serving as a garage.
The house is oriented towards Mt. Mansfield as the owners are avid alpine skiers. Their family lifestyle is gracious and welcoming. In addition to their request that the family´s bedrooms would all be on the upper level, they asked for ample guest and bunkroom capability at the lower, walk-out level. A large country style kitchen is adjacent to the great room and "Michigan Room" screen porch for easy entertaining and family visiting.
