Larry Dean
Designer

At age 10 Larry began designing when he took ideas from his parents and made plans for rebuilding the family cabin in Western Massachusetts. During construction, he could be found onsite comparing the work done to the drawings, and even nailing on a few of the roof boards. At eighteen, he began working with the same contractor, and was taught custom residential construction from foundation to finish.

Larry went to school for Mechanical Engineering as well as Outdoor Leadership. The latter brought him to Vermont as an instructor and river guide for Mad River Canoe. Larry has owned a property management company, been a Legal Investigator and a Wilderness EMT-I and helped to create Umiak Outdoor Outfitters in Stowe. In 2000 he graduated at the top of his class from Vermont Technical College’s Architectural Engineering program and has worked on several award-winning projects while working with architecture firms in the Burlington area.

Larry is pleased to be working at Cushman Design Group where attention to detail, and craftmanship are combined with ongoing collaboration with builders and clients.

Larry and his wife love spending time with their kids and grandkids, and he enjoys singing in many choral groups, including the VSO chorus, and Syrinx a cappella group.
