Contemporary Garage in the Woods
The simple garage at Raven Beach (Contemporary Camp in the Woods) is constructed using recycled steel roofing from Quebec, framing lumber from Hyde Park, VT, and eastern white pine, rough sawn siding and door cladding. The Brosco barn sash are made using eastern white pine. No plywood or sheet goods were used for this project.
Set into a sandy knoll planted in 1947 with red pine (pinus resinosa) and Scots Pine (pinus sylvestris), the new building will be stained in the summer of 2011 with Ben Moore Arborcoat, an exterior, waterborne, low VOC product. Once stained, the building will feel as though it has been there for many years.
