This fishing camp in rural northern Vermont takes initial material hints from the regional vernacular, and builds upon them with more contemporary selections. The contrast between the traditional warmth and solidity of the interior's exposed rough sawn wood framing, and the extensive use of large glazing gives this "cabin" a handsome yet beautifully open character. The combined living, dining, and kitchen space is framed by a large glass overhead door which establishes a clear visual and auditory connection to the surrounding forest and nearby river. It is just a short walk through the woods to the river which is dotted with idyllic fishing holes and cascading waterfalls.
